Pre-purchase systems review
A second set of eyes before you sign.
An honest walkthrough of the boat's systems — the way an owner-operator would look at her. Practical notes, not a sales pitch, so you know what you're buying into.
What we look at
We spend a couple hours aboard, look at what matters day-to-day, run systems, and put together a written summary you can use in negotiation and planning.
Batteries & charging
House and start banks, charger, alternator behavior, wiring cleanliness, terminals, condition of the install.
Electrical
Panels, breakers, DC/AC layout, obvious hazards or non-standard modifications, shore power connection.
Watermaker
Membrane condition, pre-filters, pressure behavior, pickling state, install quality — a HarborLine specialty.
Plumbing & heads
Fresh water plumbing, heads and holding tanks, pumps, obvious leaks, hose age.
Refrigeration & AC
Whether systems come up, cycle, cool as expected, and how they've been installed.
General walk-through
Bilges, dock lines, chafe gear, overall state of the vessel from a working-owner's perspective.
Important — this is not a marine survey.
A pre-purchase systems review is a practical, working-owner walkthrough of a vessel's systems. It is not a formal accredited marine survey, does not include haul-out or structural evaluation, and should not be used for insurance, financing, or legal purposes. We recommend a full survey by an accredited surveyor for those needs; a HarborLine review is a complement, not a replacement.
